Dame Denise Platt

On the 23rd May 2007, ISP co-sponsored the second Nancy Hazel Memorial Lecture. This year it was given by Dame Denise Platt DBE and was entitled, "Foster Care in the 21st Century - what would Nancy Hazel do now?" Click here to read her lecture.

The Original Phase: The Kent model and development up to the mid-80s
by Nancy Hazel.

This paper is the first of three written by Nancy Hazel which appeared in the booklet, Free to by Myself: the development of teenage fostering, in 1993. Nancy Hazel was a key figure in the development of professional fostering in the UK in the 1970s. ISP was pleased to sponsor, in conjunction with Fostering Network, two Nancy Hazel Memorial Lectures. The first was delivered by David Blunkett, MP and the second by Dame Denise Platt (see above).
