About ISP

ISP is a not-for-profit, independent fostering agency that provides high quality childcare, education and therapy for young people in need.

ISP Statement of Purpose document

ISP was founded in 1987 by a small group of foster carers in Kent who were working with difficult-to-place teenagers. They recognised the need for an integrated programme of care and specialist services for young people, so set up ISP as an independent, not-for-profit organisation.

Over the years, ISP has expanded and now has centres in Kent, Buckinghamshire, Sussex and London, all of which are rated ‘outstanding / excellent’ by Ofsted.

Our centres are close to our foster families. They have a family feel and offer support and a range of services to young people and their carers. We work closely with many local authorities and currently offer services to around 300 young people and some of their parents, through parent and child placements.

We also run an ISP school in Kent, which is rated as good with outstanding features by Ofsted.

We place great emphasis on recruiting, training and developing the very best foster carers so that young people can experience the best that fostering can provide. We help create the right environment by providing a wrap-around service that provides wide-ranging practical and professional support for both young people and foster families.

“It is my professional assessment that ISP provides the highest standards of foster care and that they have significantly improved the outcomes for some of our most vulnerable young people.” John McShane, Placement Officer, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
